The information session held by NRPA on April 1st 2016 was attended by 65 members. Chair Bas Zuidberg, assisted by professional valuator Jenny Shaw and real estate agent Jenny Scagell, explained the valuation process and how to object. Attached, you will find the slides used. These should be viewed together with the document and list of sales, which NRPA recently posted on the website (link below)
The deadline for objections to the valuations is 30/4/2026. Don’t be late!
Additionally, NRPA has assisted the Cape Town Collective Ratepayers Association in creating a “Municipal Rates Bill calculator” which residents can use to see what the effect of the new valuation is going to be on their Municipal Bill, using the draft budget rates and charges that will come into effect on 1/7/2026.
The calculator is available in the sidebar of the NRPA website, or via this link: https://nrpa.org.za/CTCRA_municipal_bill_calculator_v1_0_13.html
