Thank you to NRPA Chairman Bas Zuidberg for a very informative session explaining the new draft Municipal Planning By-Law amendment and its effect on Noordhoek. The session took place at Monkey Valley on Wednesday evening as well as online.
Here is the presentation that was used at the session. It includes information on how residents can attend public meetings that CoCT has scheduled for 8 and 10 October, as well as next steps that residents can take in submitting their comments to CoCT.
NRPA will be publishing its final list of comments a few days before the 25 October deadline so that residents can use these in their own submissions if they would like to.
MPBL 2024 amendment – NRPA information session
The CoCT has published a new draft amendment to the Municipal Planning By-Law (MPBL).
The sweeping changes that are proposed have led to a lot of commotion across the city. The NRPA has joined 40 other ratepayer and environmental organisations – known as the Collective Ratepayers’ Association or CRA – to protest against these proposals..
Not only do we have grievances about the proposed changes, but we are also adamant that residents should have more say in how the MPBL is applied in their area to safeguard the uniqueness of each neighbourhood.
Furthermore, we believe that we should have more direct influence on future amendments.
CoCT has agreed, after urgent requests from the CRA, to extend the deadline for comments to 25/10/2024.
