NOTIFICATION KOMMETJIE ROAD UPGRADE:
NIGHT WORK ON 9 & 10 APRIL 2018 AT BULLER LOUW
Dear I&AP,
The project has applied for and been granted a noise exemption permit from the City’s Environmental Health Department to allow Martin and East to carry out night work on 9th and 10th April 2018. This work will take place at the Buller Louw Boulevard intersection with Ou Kaapseweg and comprises the trenching, laying and backfilling of the new ductile iron water pipe across Buller Louw. Due to large traffic volumes throughout the day at this intersection this work can only be done when there are low traffic volumes. Special permission has been received from the City’s Transport and Urban Development Authority – TDA – for this work to be done at night.
Traffic flow will be accommodated throughout this process and access to all properties in the vicinity will be maintained. Temporary advance warning signs will be erected to alert motorists of traffic deviations. The west bound lanes of Buller Louw will be closed between OKW and Sunnydale Road and once this trench is backfilled they will be opened to traffic and the east bound lanes closed to allow the trenching, laying and backfilling process to continue towards Noordhoek Road.
Roadworks to reinstate the asphalt surface will take place from 11th April 2018 during daytime off peak occupations where one lane at a time will be closed for this operation.
Your patience is appreciated.
Kommetjie Road project team.
