City advises of water supply disruptions in the South Peninsula area 5 – 22 July 2019

The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department will be conducting emergency repair work on the roof of the Brakkloof Reservoir that supplies water to a large portion of the South Peninsula area.

Read more below:
The City would like to alert residents of the South Peninsula, specifically the areas of Noordhoek, Sunvalley, Capri, Masiphumelele, Ocean View, Kommetjie and Scarborough towards Cape Point, of the repair work to be carried out at the Brakkloof Reservoir from today, Friday 5 July 2019 until Monday 22 July 2019.

The abovementioned areas may experience low water pressure or intermittent disruptions to the water supply. The affected areas will be supplied with water from the Ocean View Reservoir during this period, which is situated at a slightly lower elevation and has less capacity than the Brakkloof Reservoir.

As a result of this changeover, residents that are situated on the higher lying elevations, within these suburbs, may experience lower water pressure and intermittent supply of water from time to time.

Residents are kindly requested to store water in clean, sealed containers for use during this period.

The City apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused while the repair work is underway.
