ATTENTION ALL NOORDHOEK RIDERS, RESIDENTS, WALKERS AND TRAIL RUNNERS
SANParks has initiated their routine review of user group activities in the Table Mountain National Park.
The Noordhoek Riding Club was invited to provide comments on the 2022 draft Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for equestrian activities in a first round of comments. This EMP sets the rules for how equestrians can use the park, including trail maps and terms of use. The EMP’s areas of interest in the South Peninsula are Noordhoek Beach, Noordhoek Wetlands, and Glencairn/Redhill trails. Now, SANParks are preparing to open the document up to public comments from any concerned parties. The NRC, in collaboration with NEAG and the NRPA, proposed a set of guidelines for the EMP draft in order to better integrate local riders’ activities and environmental concerns.
Essentially we would like to discuss the current paths being used in the Wetlands and the beach area, and discuss how we can look at opening additional paths to maintain the beauty and safety of our precious Noordhoek Wetlands.
The NRC would like to invite all NRC members, Noordhoek residents, and horse riders to join an information evening on the results of the process so far.
We will be meeting at the Noordhoek Riding Club Clubhouse on Saturday 25 February at 5pm.
We would love to see you all there.
Please see the additional info below.
