NRPA EXCO Meeting Minutes: 20 April 2017 18h00 – 19h30
Summary: NRPA and 2030 website, Houmoed Rd EIA, Erf 2145 enclosure of public open space, Flagpoles, Traffic calming, Cell mast, City owned land, NEAG liaison.
Present: Brad Bing (Chair), Jenny Shaw, Liz Smith, Rob Speedy.

Discussion regarding creation of 2030 website with upgrade of and linkage to the NRPA site. A budget of R10 000 – R15 000 is available out of the Vision Process reserves.
Membership – 250 currently registered on site with 89 paid up representing 93 properties. A discussion took place regarding a fixed subscription for pensioners.
Houmoed Road EIA in process – public participation process to start in June. Transport study still underway. No law governing flagpoles on residential properties, only for commercial properties. Traffic calming investigation at Sea Cottage/Main Rd intersection.
Update on cell mast application objections – more input was being obtained. Attended to dispute re enclosing of public open space Erf 2145, Seascape Rd – meeting set up with Don Kirkwood and the City. Leeway was granted to make small (obvious) decisions re planning without bringing all to EXCO unnecessarily. Liaison with NEAG to take place where planning has an environmental impact. Still need maps to mark where there is Council land in Noordhoek.
Newsletter sent out – collaborating with 2030 projects Recruited new sub-committee member.
Decisions – A positive focus to be projected in all that we communicate to counter the growing negativity of our broader context. – If unable to attend an Exco meeting send a portfolio update/report to Exco. – Time to be set aside in each meeting for longer term strategic conversation.
