Dear Noordhoek residents
We are reaching out to you with an important update on the Noordhoek Garden Emporium (NGE).
Jock Kannemeijer, the owner of NGE, has issued a statement in which he confirms that will no longer be submitting an application for padel courts at NGE. As NRPA we are happy with this development, since we believe that the noise and light pollution of the proposed open courts was something that needed to be avoided. Instead Jock will now be looking to expand the service offering of NGE in a different way. He also wants to look at providing (indoor) sports facilities on the council-owned property opposite NGE. NRPA has offered to work with him on these ideas and to support him where possible.
This turn of events is a testament to how we believe that development should and can happen in Noordhoek. There are areas where the interests of the community and those of property owners are aligned and these can be explored through constructive dialogue.
We look forward to engage with Jock on his new ideas.
