Organic Greens right on our doorstep
Situated on Sleepy Hollow Farm, this 2400m2 organic farm is run by the Clack family who are passionate about growing both the organic consciousness and organic veggies. They started this business in November 2016 with the intention to make a living doing what they love. They have a vision to grow the awareness, demand and supply of organic vegetables in the Southern Peninsula by networking with like-minded growers in neighbouring communities, by activating more local, unutilised open land/gardens for growing organic veg and thereby benefitting local communities.
Metro Organics currently provides fresh produce to local restaurants, retail outlets and direct to individual local clients. As the business grows they hope to add more local employees to their current team. For more information about the team and more, have a look at their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MetroOrganics/
Buy your own freshly-grown, delicious Metro Organics greens and veg, by: Ordering directly and asking to be added to the Whatsapp Broadcast Availability List by contacting either Stacey or Gill Clack on email@example.com – 082 823 3886
Or by supporting the following local retail outlets:
Bees in Boots (Barbara at the Local Veg Stall opposite Cape Dutch Gardens Nursery) – https://www.facebook.com/BeesInBootsOrganic/
- The Noordhoek Friendly
- The Foodbarn Deli
The Clacks believe in creating a healthy community by encouraging people to work together and help each other. Planting more food gardens in unutilized spaces is just a start. They hope to see a weekly organic food market take shape where locals can purchase and/or trade fresh organic produce.
Create your own organic garden
Metro organics wants to grow the organic footprint in South Africa, so if you need help with setting up your own organic vegetable garden, give them a shout!
Help increase our organic footprint in exchange for organic food!
– provision of infrastructure (Metro Organics is wanting to set up a more efficient post-harvest station, purchase more JoJo tanks for water storage, set up of a DIY greenhouse, all of which require either finance, equipment or materials – get in touch with them if you would like to help in some way)
– use of open land and water in exchange for weekly supply of vegetables.
Come and Visit!
