KOMMETJIE ROAD UPGRADES – 21 JULY 2017 – OPENING OF CHEBEC CRESCENT, STREET LIGHTS, SILVERMINE ROAD INTERSECTION

Removal of road closure of Chebec Crescent at Frigate Crescent by close of work today. The road will have a temporary surface and motorists are requested to drive with care as it is still a construction area.

Kommetjie Road street light poles have been set back out of the way of the planned roadworks and the power supply has been reconnected.

4 way stop at Kommetjie Road/ Ou Kaapseweg – The lights at this intersection will not be working this weekend as the contractor is setting back the street light poles but will be working by midweek next week.

Work at Silvermine Road/ Ou Kaapseweg intersection will recommence on 25th July 2017 with the contractor carrying out horizontal drilling operation to install pipes for new electrical and telephone cables.
A general request is made for motorists and pedestrians to be aware of machine and truck movements across and within this site.

With bulk earthwork operations under way for the next few months large trucks will be entering/ exiting and crossing Kommetjie Road and Ou Kaapseweg. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to observe and comply with all the relevant temporary signage and the directions of flag personnel.
